Reputation is a value of popularity, not skills, knowledge, trust and other things that matter.

Yet many here in times past and present have rated individuals based upon the very skill, trust, knowledge, and other matters of substance they're known for.
Look no further than the very complaints issued by many when the ratings were reset as confirmation of that.

Rep is a measure of popularity, but the way said popularity is built on such a forum is from being helpful, knowledgeable and respectful to other members thus earning their respect and admiration
