I had a incident the other day where my internet provider decided to do some maintenance with an ETA of 2 days.
For me, I somehow found my way back to reading a book. I've never realised that the internet completely destroyed my former passion for reading.

How about you people?

Sounds SUPER lazy I know, but there's literally nothing better for me to do other than waste gas and I'd rather just sleep.

play games offline, Power being off inside my house multiple times makes no internet seem like nothing.

THIS. It's so true. Since I got into gaming and twitch among others, I've barely read anything as of late. Maybe 2 books at year at most.

When the internet is out, I often have offline opportunities to play games or do other tasks. Power outages usually lead me to reading books, painting and sometimes doing housework.

Coincidentally, I had a similar Incident around 4 days ago, whereby I was receiving very limited connectivity. It literally took 10 seconds to load Google.

I tethered and used my cell phone as the AP. I have 5 blogs to update on a daily basis, hence I cannot afford to be offline.

If my home internet is down. i'll use my phone data. if thats down use my bros data lol. if thats down i'll go watch tv which i rarely do as everything is online now.

That's a good question. I haven't been in that situation in a while though. I think about three years ago I had service with AT&T my internet was out for about a day. I forgot how many other people were out of service too. I had to call them to get it back up. Any time that happens I just play whatever game that's compatible with offline.

I have over 300 GB of data on my cell phone (In the "data bank" that does not expire), solely for backup purposes when my main ISP goes down.

Due to where I live making data impossible to use generally I just drive into work or to my school and sit around there if I really need internet - past that I try to stay at home and be somewhat productive if I can.

ISP going out is a lot less of an issue for me than power going out as everything is ADSL - generally even if the power is out the phone lines are still up and if I really want I can still get connected if we put the hardware on a generator and then plug a laptop in, but no matter what it's quite slow.
