The Issue I see with this, Is those who go "doctor shopping" and obtain ex-amount of scripts for a given drug.

Before they know It, they're addicted.

One wouldn't have to do that, nor would they have to worry about being poisoned and accidentally overdosing if they were given access to good, reputable vendors like the coffee shops in the Netherlands, and educated about drugs.

I've had quite a few friends who did that (doctor shopping), and one OD'd on a number of occasions.

Access to reputable entities Is one thing, but when you're after massive hits, you'd go to the extreme to obtain It.

There's a few drugs I want to try when I'm older for "life experiences" (cocaine , ectasy).

Other drugs like heroin and ketamine don't appeal to me in anyway , but that's my opinion.

Legalization is a tricky one for me , weed should definitely be legalized imo. It's basically the first thing people smoke / take when they're young. Which in turn opens them up to other drugs and from there it can go downhill so easily. I've seen a lot of people become (I don't want to say addicted) but just massive nittys through this path.

Other drugs like Xanax , I'm not really sure about. I know they're available through prescription but all the dealers I know make their own which often contains impurities

Some kid I knew of sold a pill which ended up killing someone due to what's in it. He's now ratted out a ton of other dealers and is now in witness protection . Not sure what my opinion is just a story I wanted to share with others .

Pfft, I've done everything at least once. I prefer downers. Uppers just amplify my most negative traits to the max which override any benefits.

They should all be legalized and nationalized immediately. This will destroy the black market, save the state billions and enable billions more of tax revenue which could then be spent on improving lives which would lower the rate of users and addicts.
Addiction is a symptom. Every single addict I've hung out with was from a dysfunctional home.

Current policies do nothing but recruit an army of drug users, glamorize drug use and sell moralist garbage to retard SJWs. I can't name the last time in history a zero-tolerance policy for anything ever did dick for anyone but I welcome to be enlightened.

The worst thing you can do to addicts is isolate them and limit their options in terms of future employment.

I think Dismas hit the nail on the head. Punishing people for taking substances that hurt them/others isn't going to solve the problem, and certainly doesn't work as a deterrent or we wouldn't see teenagers and many members on this very board using these substances. Show me evidence where prison sentences for x drug actually improves quality of life for those individual's/makes these people better, contributing citizens...

I noticed the US takes a fear-mongering approach when educating people about drugs, and when talking about it politically. I'm talking about this "war on drugs" mentality.
The aim of the education I got: To provide people with as much information and helpful skills as possible. For example, how to help a friend who is struggling with drugs, or how to save them if they take too much, who to talk to when in need, where to seek medical help, etc. They didn't look down on someone for drugs, but explained what information and options are out there. I suspect that is more helpful with the root cause of problems surrounding drugs, rather than trying to put a band-aid/plaster on the symptoms.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I completely agree with that.

1 or 2 month ago i searched a lot about this topic and what i could say is i see there is advantages and disadvantages. Only thing makes it drug is dose. If you use it too much you get addicted to it but if you use it properly , actually it becomes a medicine. If we count drug wars too i believe this thing should be get sold under control of government. If you are thinking against me , i respect.

Well best way to stop drugs is if they are legalized, recently mexico did it and ended the war on drugs, as marijuana I have tried many times but I never find it interesting and everyone in mine country mixes it with crystal meth or other drugs and then sell it so it can be stronger, I prefer amphetamines over any drug, I can act and look normally and at least if i want to remove the effect i just need to drink a lot of water or lemon juice

I have never used drugs in my life, I just used to smoke cigarettes. But honestly, I'm not against cannabis, I think it's not letal or addictive like cocaine or similar. But yes, I'm against hard drugs like cocaine, methamphetamine etc.
But there are always reasons people use them, we'd need to discuss the underlying causes.
