What are addictions you have turned good #1
This might sound a bit confusing, but say you used to be addicted to playing games, but now you do something productive like editing montages, or doing gaming editing for others and just playing games now and then. Or maybe you used to spend all your time watching porn but now you can use the skills you learned and are now a professional e-whorer. Some weird examples but maybe you know what I mean?

Without going Into detail, rather than doing what I did (many years ago) when circumventing and breaching the security of any system at my disposal, I've since been using It In an ethical manner In the best Interest of the target.

This. I started out doing hacks for hire and now I do them for good, and to help people understand their attack surface better.

Hmmm, I used to play a lot of video games, and I'm not entirely positive I can attribute that with introducing me further into tech and becoming my career, but it's a possibility.

I used to kill people for fun but now I kill people I'm told are bad based off of shaky evidence and a screaming, muscular white guy in his mid 30's.

/s

I'm kinda hooked on Nicotine, but I switched to vaping (almost down to 0mg nicotine) and I've helped a few people I know who were heavy smokers switch over and lay off of nicotine?

That's the best I got ^.^

On a serious note, once you kick the addiction altogether, It'll be the best thing you've done. It's been over 10 years since I've quit and I've never looked back.

You know, I actually felt a lot better after I switched to vaping. Occasionally I might feel tired or like excessively frustrated with how bored I am, but besides that, I feel like I'm in great condition. I've got a normal lung capacity, my heart rate hasn't changed (I rest at 80-90 bpm which is on the higher side but it's always been that way for me even before smoking) Maybe one day I'll fully quit but I think more realistically, I'll grow a maturity towards it and consume with reason.

Going by personal experience, you need to be "mentally" ready.

As I've mentioned quite a few times In various posts, I made every excuse to quit- ranging from my New Year's resolution, to quitting on my birthday, Easter and the list goes on. The day came when I had enough and thew my cigarette packet In the trash can. I was adamant (mentally) that I'd never smoke again, and that was over 10 years ago. By no means was It easy, but It was one of the best decisions I've made.

I've always been fond of FPS games and I've got to the point where I've played thousands of hours. While this "addiction" has it's pros and cons, I have to say it has refined my reactions which can applied to real life situations.
