Probably her hardware doesn't accommodate the OS.

I have Windows 11 running on 7 laptops, and there's no Issues whatsoever. Lightening fast and very stable & responsive.
I cannot say that if it was the error that you mentioned but surely her laptop was a low performant one. Even the cursor of the laptop was slow to respond. But Windows 10 worked rather fast on her laptop but unfortunately she was not able to revert back to Windows 10.

My opinion would be Windows 10 for an old laptop!

its not super super old, a razer blade 14 2014 to be exact. Just a bit outdated and does not support the new TPM. It only has 8gb of ram too
Honestly I want to turn it into an ultimate security/privacy machine but i think windows is the only option as it needs drivers as well as not being able to run certain applications/VM's

I'm thinking of flashing Linux on my PC. Already have them on my VMs but I really prefer Windows over Linux but both of them are good. I'm more comfy with Windows! I will think on that more!

Forget about running VMs with only 8 GB of Ram.

Flashing it on the main disc but it can be risky...
You can flash a Linux on your PC whereby there will be only one OS which is the Linux
