Some really incredible names mentioned here. While I feel gutted, I don't normally have a strong personal reaction to this kind of news, but it feels like it's happening to someone in a TV show. In the sense that I'm so removed from those people.

However, I'd just landed from a long haul flight when I'd heard the Queen of England died, and I was a little surprise by the fact I'd started crying. An extraordinary number of people were surprised by how much that one affected them, so it wasn't just me. The 36 hour long queues to pass her coffin and say goodbye speaks to how my fellow countrymen felt about her.

One that surprised me less was when Robbie Coltrane passed. He was a major part of my childhood having played Hagrid in Harry Potter.

Another from my childhood - Alan Rickman. Ofc already mentioned in this thread, but I loved him in anything I saw him in, especially as Professor Snape. I also had particular affections for his appearance in Galaxy Quest, though I don't know many who have also seen it.

Probably one of the most shocking deaths for an actor since Heath Ledger. He was a phenomenal talent and seemed like a genuinely good person.
