RE: What Are Your Specs? #51
@Pikami, your specs are very similar to mine, with the exception of the graphics card. How does the GTX 1050 perform? Are you happy with It?

I'm satisfied with mine. I have a few tasks running and all Is well.

I'm very happy, I am not a gamer so I don't need a super fancy graphics card. (I've only played 2 games on it since I bought it)
It runs CS:GO on 230-250fps wich is way better that my old pc that only does about 30fps
My old computer could generate 198.9 milion MD5 hashes a second, new lappy does 4025.9 milion so hash cracking is going to be hella faster.

Very Impressive Indeed. I'm not a gamer either and as such, some say having the GTX 1070 Is an overkill, but I also need It for cracking.

Furthermore, I need the 32GB of ram when running simultaneous VMs and other memory-Intensive tasks.
Got to love this with over 80 tabs active In FF and other tasks running In the background:

I have 2 memory slots spare, so I may throw In 2x16GB sticks. The motherboard can accommodate It, so why not.

I've got a macbook pro retina. It's got an i5 2.5ghz, 8gb of ram and 256gb ssd with an intel graphics. It's not the best but it's enough for me as I don't do much gaming.

Since I've converted to SSDs, I find It's a significant difference In boot times and general read/write operations.

Looking back, I don't know how why I put up with SATA HDDs.

I bougt the laptop with 8gb and added another 8gb extra because I'm also like runing VMs for no reason

Good move.

Given your computing capacity, ram Is very Important. Furthermore, as technology advances so too does the need for resources. 32GB may be somewhat of an overkill for me, but at least I know It will suffice for many years to come.

I just built a new PC a couple months ago and was pissed to find out the motherboard doesn't support IOMMU. I might switch it out for a ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero sometime.
