You'll find them in places like Elance, Fiverr, Freelancer etc but without a solid portfolio it'll be hard to get clients at first

As stated above, Fiverr is very good when looking for clients.
With me being a user I can vouch this website for being legit and safe. Along with all this, it comes with a great community always leaving feedback!
All you have to do is signup, post your "gig"(I believe it's called), wait for responses.

Are you just using an online username or is this something you want to pursure as a career? Sign up to Freelancer.com if you actually want to get yourself out there. Although it can be hard as there are a lot of users who go for cheap as well.
