Each day new forums are born, a day after they die.
Why would I join yours and not a big one? i.e gfxforums.net

Forums these days lack originality, a good(g)ui, good community spirit.

I agree but disagree too. A new forum can't grow big in a day or two and not even a year is enough. After about 2 yrs and with constant support of their members it can finally grow. Content is all that matters. Also instead of a good UI I think a simple and easier, less complex UI is more impportant.

About the community spirit, yes that is something which is needed the most and rest can become easier.

I wasn't saying it is necessarily because it have to be big, I just gave another option I could join "Why would I join yours and not a big one? i.e gfxforums.net".

Content is indeed a big part to participate on forums, else the forums have no use ofcourse
