Web Design & Graphics Forum #1
Hello [username]! I have been thinking about starting a forum for web designers and graphic designers. It would allow others to share and suggest ideas towards others ideas/designs. Everyone from HC would be welcome and encouraged to check it out once its up. Let me know what you think of this idea below.

Each day new forums are born, a day after they die.
Why would I join yours and not a big one? i.e gfxforums.net

Forums these days lack originality, a good(g)ui, good community spirit.

I would have to agree with @bluedog.tar.gz . Building a community especially with something as broad as a web design and graphics forum would be a large undertaking mostly because you would have to set yourself apart in a way that would make people prefer your community over the larger ones they are already a part of. You would also need to build up your traffic which is no small undertaking as well. I do have a forums but I only use them as a development area and playground for ideas I come up with which works great for me. My advice would be to make a Dev area to mess around on with a few friends and then see if it's something you truly wish to pursue long-term.

I am currently working on a few things so a dev website is actually a good idea. If you would like to learn about some of the stuff im working on you can PM me, I just ask that you keep it secret.

I agree but disagree too. A new forum can't grow big in a day or two and not even a year is enough. After about 2 yrs and with constant support of their members it can finally grow. Content is all that matters. Also instead of a good UI I think a simple and easier, less complex UI is more impportant.

About the community spirit, yes that is something which is needed the most and rest can become easier.

I wasn't saying it is necessarily because it have to be big, I just gave another option I could join "Why would I join yours and not a big one? i.e gfxforums.net".

Content is indeed a big part to participate on forums, else the forums have no use ofcourse Smile
