Ahhhhhok Im excited then!

I don't know, the only way i "trained" for ctf's was doing them and learning on the go through online resources. Every CTF i've done has gotten progressively better, though i have only competed in the High-school specific ones cause im still in HS (((((). I have learned a bunch tho, and there are already a bunch of sites (like hackthissite.com) that do ctf-like training. Going back and doing CTF's that are already over is also a good way to train. usually they keep the challenges up, and the points are added to your acc, just not on a public scoreboard.

https://picoctf.com/ There 2014 CTF just ended, and there is a 2013 CTF that you can play too. Make an acc and it will be just like a real CTF, you just not competing. Go through the problems, anything you don't know search in google. use your resources

I agree. The only thing i used CodeAcademy for is learning Python Syntax.

I used Udemy's courses and books for teaching myself most programming.

The best way to learn programming in my opinion though, is actually programming. I am slowly working my way through this list of programming projects (from 4chan.org/g/)

Ok. Update. Once SL is back up and running we will go into Overdrive XD. We will be getting a dev team together to make it happen. Trust me, I've hit some speed bumps in life and it sucks. I recently had to move in and now I have to also worry about my Partner/Boyfriend going homeless as well. A good friend is taking us in when she get's a new apartment and I will be working from home. We will be holding a funding drive and taking donations as this is a community ran project. It will be funded by you guys hopefully. It will be as good as you guys make it. We will be posting a thing in the groups panel as well as other sub forums. We will be looking to have at least 10 people working on it and you will have to know what you are doing. This IS a community project and it will stick around. My life is getting better since I have a home now so it's getting back on track. We will still have multiple CTF types and I'm thinking of creating a phishing type scenario as well D Good day to you guys and thanks for the mention.

Sounds like your going/went through some hard stuff, hope you get through well. The plan for the CTF sounds awesome! I'm looking forward to the different CTF types. Ill be sure to contribute in any way I can.
