Yep. The movie is supposed to be set in the time before any of the expansions, though.

Might go for this movie just to see how they realized all the different characters and places w/ CGI. It'd be pretty cool to see the places i spent grinding/strategizing it out on the big screen. Especially since i'm hearing it was a pretty good movie.

My only worry is the nostalgia that will inevitably come with it Tongue

The nostalgia was crazy. People can say what they want about the movie, but chances are they weren't playing the game a decade or so ago. The CGI of locations/characters was admirable in and of itself.

Perhaps it will. I didn't play that much before and have recently been unable to recover my game data (apparently I'm using the wrong account but my main emails aren't matching the right account, not sure wth has happened there). I will say, it really made me feel like I was in a story in the middle of the game though. It's not some random fantasy film, it feels like the game landscape that it comes from. They portrayed the places well. I've even been told they built two of the major sets to great detail which aren't CGI (would need to google which ones to confirm though).

Oh God, the horror!

People always love to ruin shit that was already at its prime.

Oh I forgot to say, Oni seemed to connect to the scenery really well. He played it so much years ago and I think he had that nostalgia but he seems to really liked it.

What the hell are you talking about? The classics?

On the contrary right now was probably the best time they could have released something like this. With WoW's subscriber base on the decline for several years now, the WarCraft franchise in general has been slowly but surely disappearing.

I believe the nostalgic aspects of this movie which appeal mostly to the niches of people who were WarCraft fanatics back in the day is what this is all about. I don't think this was supposed to be some kind of blockbuster hit. According to the feedback i've been seeing, they've done a pretty god damn good job, and it shouldn't 'tarnish' the rep of WarCraft. Rather, I think it's a great way to pull it all together.

Let it die and let it remembered as something that was good instead of ruining it?
