Want to be a Web-Developer? #1
Hello everyone,

I just want to share a bit of knowledge from experience with you all quickly. Many, many months ago I decided I wanted to learn to be a web-developer. This is not the case now. I do enjoy it, I just don't put as much effort into it anymore due to a previously lacking social life.

Anyway, if you want to get started with developing static - semi-dynamic websites, purchase this book. Or steal it like I did. Too fucking expensive.

http://www.amazon.com/Introducing-HTML5-...ords=Html5

It is absolutely CRUCIAL to know html as a developer. You MUST learn it first, before attempting to learn anything more intense such as php, javascript, even CSS.

Anyway, my point here is to point some of you guys in the right direction with this kind of shit. I'm certified in html5 and will be happy to help you if you have any questions.

Have a good one.

I agree with you there sir, HTML is one of the basics of the web development world.
As soon as your knowledge in html is decent, maybe I'd advice to go into CSS, to understand how it works.
After that javascript and php.

I defently do agree with you here, HTML is the way to go if you are a beginner.

If you do not know HTML you well probably not go any where.

That book is good and for $20 bucks it isn't expensive at all lol how you end up stealing it you went to amazon factory / address and sneaked in and out?

There are many other places online for example like w3schools.com that you can learn html from. The site I listed is very good for beginners you will learn everything about coding html they ever offer other languages like CSS , Javascript & PHP many more too!

I use http://www.codecademy.com/
It's completely free and has lessons, it has a console and instructions to teach you how to do something without spoonfeeding you, it's absolutely excellent.

Some people (Such as myself) do better with physical books.

I probably would too, but you've gotta ask yourself.
How would I afford it?
