I was thinking that actually we could have two threads devoted to Perl and ASM? People just post questions and tutorials.

I've been doing a bit more with assembly for PE parsing, and malware analysis techniques. It's fairly useful, especially when you start understanding what the operating system on the host environment uses the 6 segment registers for, among a few other special registers.

You can do that in C/C++ much easily with the IMAGE_XXXX structs

I never mentioned ASM only being used for the PE parsing portion. Although it's still very easy to find the PEB_LDR_DATA data using ASM.
