V-Logs on YouTube ? #1
Hey guys,

Was just wondering about an idea, and I want to share this suggestion with you.

What do you think of Hack Community posting Video's on Youtube?
I was thinking of categories:
  • Programming
  • Hacking Tips
  • Graphic Design

And more, if someone knows something cool.

We'd put a title:

[HC] PERL programming - Hashes

for example.

We could create a new account on Youtube names HC Community.

And always at the end of video we would say
"Check more interesting stuff and tutorials on our Forums" and give the link in description.

Start
We could Open a Topic (or here) where we would divide us in Groups (Programming, Hacking, Graphics, etc.) And then each group would need to cooperate (maybe our Admin could creates us a Forum section forum section for entire project).

Groups
Then in Groups we divide ourselfves more specific (Programming: C, C++, PERL, Java, etc.)

Video Logs
Next the people in certain category will provide a video tutorial on something from it's category (PERL - Hashes).

If someone would like to show himself on the video, in introduction, we need to unite our background color, for example white.

Contribution
Other who might not be comfortable talking on a video, can also contribute with writing a tutorial and someone will just read it on recording.

So what do you think about this idea? Is it too much public for a Hack Community ?

I don't think this will end well.
I remember when a forum (which I was a former member of) started to advertise itself on Youtube, the result was that within a month, the forum was flooded with LQ 12 year olds constantly asking us to hack Xbox Live or PSN accounts for them and other similar favors. This would have an adverse effect on the quality of traffic that HC receives.

That is true, yes. I thought admin get something paid for each registered members or some cents by each visit to the Forums. I had setup a web page like that, that on click, you got few cents. Smile

And? The "newest" video is 2 years old. AKA inactive.

Either create a new channel or use that one. Doesn't matter. Organizing stuff matters, so that it doesnt go inactive as the previous one.

EDIT: WTF, that one has only a video posted and only for sponsoring it's forums...

I agree with @XrpmX13 I rather not have a forum flooded with children who have fornicated with my mother (At least they inform me on xbox live). If you have have something nice it is best not to advertise it. "If you build it, (t)he(y) will come"

Personally, I don't belive this is a good idea. Video tutorials are all the same, LQ stuff. There's a reason why the truly useful guides/information is written in articles and books.

And as already stated, vidoes only interests low quality people.

Not true. Video's are, of course, better than books for people who are beginners in some field.
Books are already for detailed information about a certain subject. Maybe you guys dont have yet that much experience, but when you'll enter college you'll soon get to know how useful become video tutorials, where you can hear everything necessary in 10 minutes instead of reading a 500 page book. And no, you're not in college if you don't know what I am talking about.

I always help myself with trying to find video tutorials. I only read books if I did not understand the entire subject professor has lectured. But if you visit your lectures and pay attention, then books are just time spenders. In that case, you open YouTube or Khan Academy and watch some Math or Physics videos, even programming if you do not understand something.

Highschool's different, back then, neither did I watch videos to refresh or revise my knowledge. Because reading a 20 or 50 page book takes almost the same time as some video tutorials. But in college, you won't have any extra time, especially not to read 500 page book. OH WAIT! It can be possible, but that's only if you don't have life, apart of college.

BUT, if the problem is that many people who are beginners might join, and these Forums don't want them. Then that's a reasonable objection which I endure.

I wasn't talking about videos not being useful. But I've been in the scene of hacking and programming for about 6 years now, and I can ensure you, the only places I've find high quality advanced information is in books.
