Personally, I'm a bit critical of permabans since they tend to be lifted on a whim - I know a LOT of people who've been "permabanned" and ended up returning less than a month later. Temp bans almost feel more sincere, in that aspect.

Permbans are lifted if you ask @"Dismas" nicely.

Agreed @'Eclipse'. @'oni' has been known to lift perm bans before under certain circumstances.

The only time an instant permban is put in place is with obvious spambots and the like. Otherwise the general progression is "verbal" warning (because text is so verbal), if no course correction a formal warning is issued which results in a warning % level. I believe it's 45% level results in a 2 week ban.

Spam bot reason: Spam bot
Carder reason: Carder
Ban evader reason: Ban evader
Threatening reason: Threats

It's simple honestly, whether a person wants to read them or not it is still there in front of there faces as they scroll down looking for someone that has been banned that they know of.

The main thing is making it clean and more professional.

To be honest, allowing you guys to read the ban list is just a gimmick. I really don't care if you're reading it or not, it doesn't matter to me when I ban a bot whether or not one of you sees the ban reason. The bot's gone. Booyah.

The ban list is a feature.

And that is the problem right there, you don't care. Is that really a great path to take as a staff member?.

It is really not hard to write Spam bot or Spammer instead of Faggot or Wanker.

Being staff on here is a job, you may not be getting paid for it but it is still a job that you took voluntarily but do you think any legit work place or business would approve of similar actions without you getting let go?.

You all complained about cancerous posts because it was bringing the quality of the forum down, so far those posts have been easing off although there is still some bad ones so consider that problem at least almost fixed, but how is using unprofessional manner any different from bringing the quality of the forum down?.

This is just 1 very simple easy to fix no hassle suggestion that can help at least slightly bring the quality up. It may not be much but every little bit counts.

Lol, just when I was starting to think you were alright.

The ban list is a gimmick. There is no point of you guys being able to see it, but @"oni" thought if fit to add. I'm not going to change the way I do things because you guys can see it. The only person to whom a ban reason matters is the banned user. If the banned user is a bot or a carder, then there are zero people to whom the ban reason matters.

Yeah, the forum has improved from last week as a direct result of that thread. I thank you for actually understanding and altering the way you posted. The thing is, the ban list does not affect the quality of the forum in any way whatsoever. Only a select few user groups can even see the damned list. So no, being nice to bots won't bring the quality up.

EDIT: I'll stop calling them faggots. Calm down.

If you want to try and act hard then go for it.

A staff's job is supposed to be professional nothing you can say will change that NOTHING. Spam bot's or not bans should be done in a professional manner.

I am not trying to cause drama, I am stating pure facts. If YOU and everybody else want's Sinisterly to be better then don't you think acting like mature adults is the proper way to go or would you all rather act like 12 year old kids?.

Man up to your wrong doings, I manned up to mine.

And lets not turn this into an argument either.

Your "EDIT: I'll stop calling them faggots. Calm" could of been the first reply to this thread and it would of been simple, done and over with. The only thing is to get any other staff to agree to do the same.
