I've tried replicating this, but haven't managed. If your mobile browser has a "desktop mode", this might be the cause.

yes I like the desktop look more but I'm always on the go

Theme was designed with the intent of being used on an actual desktop or in mobile mode. CSS is calculated using @media screen, but "desktop mode" likely causes issues with this. Not the highest priority, but I'll take a look when I can.
