Step 1: First start a new canvas of your preferred size:

Step 2: Insert the text you want to make gold:

Step 3: Go to layers>Layer Style then copy all of the following onto your text's layer style:
Bevel & Emboss:

Inner Shadow:

Inner Glow:

Drop Shadow:

Gradient Overlay:

Now you're left with something like this:
