Tough situation #1
Hello today I'm in a tight spot.
My step father who I love dearly is an alcoholic and since my mother is currently in hospital it doesn't help. I'm staying there and he is always drinking. My aunt tried to stop him but he just shouted at her and is now pissed off. I want to help him but I don't know how. Every time I try he always just gets annoyed. I tried taking the bottle of wine (Which he nearly finished) away from him and he started shouting at me.
What should I do?
I love him dearly and I know that if he continues he will end up with liver problems which I don't want. But I also don't want to lose respect for him.

Please help me.
Alex.

He normally drinks cider, beer or wine.

Well, you could try and flush the house of any type of alcohol. It might get him pissed, but its worth it. I did this for my dad and it worked for a week or so, then he relapsed.

I have tried this multiple times. He just goes to the store and buys more.

Offer him to get beer for him or such in the refrigerator, and then pour out the beer and put water and vinegar or such in it. I would do it, if I was you. Else you could just tell him "If you don't quit drinking, me and mom will leave you, and then you ends up dying, we don't wanna live with you while you are drinking"

Do you know the stores he goes to? If so, try and talk with the clerks.

I haven't been in this kinda situation, but tell him, It is either alcohol or your family. Sit him down, tell him everything you've been feeling & see where it goes from there man.

He goes to the supermarket so there is no point.

You'd be surprised what you can do talking with clerks. I kinda made my dad rage last time I pulled the "Kid with a drunk father" act.
