If Trump bans TikTok after looking into it more, another platform will just take its place immediately, so from my perspective, there’s really no point in caring. However, national security concerns remain, particularly regarding potential data sharing with the Chinese government. It wouldn’t be strange at all if a new app emerged. Social media trends to change rapidly and there’s always room for new platforms to take over especially when the demand is there.
