Thoughts on Crystal? #1
In a nutshell, Crystal is a statically typed, compiled version of Ruby. I'm using it for a project I started recently and I'm thinking about porting Morrigan (my programming language) for the second time because it has a lot of features that would make language prototyping much easier.

The official site is here and it's available through pretty much every major package manager.
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

After sifting through It via your link, It's syntax Is well structured and seems quite easy to grasp.

Why am I not surprised that the hash tag Is also used for comments? It'll be Interesting to see how you Incorporate and utilize Crystal Into your project.

Crystal actually seems really cool. It's quite fast, usually faster than Go. And, it has the supposed simplicity of Ruby.

I've gotten used to C syntax, so it'll be a bit hard to transition back if I try to make stuff in Crystal. On top of that, I've never used Ruby either. Yet, I'll probably make something in it soon.

This looks interesting, I might try to learn this sometime. I don't know Ruby, nor C. Hopefully it is easy to learn.

neat, hadn't heard of this. I love anything with fibers/channels. i have to admit my impression of Ruby syntax has been tainted though. Many years ago, someone dumped a bunch of broken ruby scripts on my lap and asked me to use them to scrape a million urls. fixing that garbage was hellish. I haven't looked at a single line of ruby since.
hail satan or whatever
