Reasons being:

• The remains were taken and examined by Russia, but never taken or examined by the United States (needs citation).
  

This is a very interesting theory, and could probably be executed successfully. How would he have gotten to Argentina? A submarine?
There were some other Nazi officers that disappeared too, most notably Heinrich Müller, the Chief of Gestapo (Nazi Germany's political state police, somewhat like a secret service / the russian KGB of the day)

Though, I don't see how the remains not being examined by the US makes it any less reliable.
