The truly awful thing about schools #1
Motherfucking insensitivity and censorship.
For fuck's sake, a girl from North Toronto, a school down the street from mine, jumped off a goddamn bridge and the only way I found out was through students.

Our teachers and administrators are insensitive pricks that choose to avoid anything relevant in modern society.
Unarmed black people getting shot down by white cops? How about algebra instead?
Ukraine still oppressed? It has nothing to do with us, screw that.
Trans teenagers murdered for their gender identity? Why would our students care?

My entire system is fucked. That's the reason this poor girl killed herself, being neglected by people that "you should come to when you're bullied." and don't do shit about it. That pisses me off in so many ways.

Fuck you, schools.

It isn't the schools. From reading this post, it's more of the people that you should be "targeting" with your rants. But schools are easy targets to blame though. I feel you though. With schools, and many other places, they would rather do what will make them look good.

Anyways, stay in school. It will help you in the long run.

Something similar happened in my area, a girl that went to my sister's school, took a plane to Syria via Turkey (to join IS) and my sister only found through her friends.

The school doesn't have to tell you. And to be honest I don't think they should. It could create problems that they don't need or should have to deal with. Also saying some one killed them self's from being unhappy is just promoting the idea to people, especially if people of authority state it.

Schools are there to provide an education; they are not a news source. While I agree, it would be nice to discuss such topics, when would it happen with equal debate? Teachers would influence with their opinions and potentially warp other opinions. Example, I was taught that Hitler was the worst human of the past century and did nothing of any good. But with a little research I found that he did a great service for the German people, he performed a miracles with their economy and re-inspired the people of their national identity. And if we look at what is happening right now, was he really so wrong to hate these groups of people?

School's, at their core, are not the place to discuss topics like that. You go there to learn.

Also, you say censorship, as if they did it and are trying ti hide it. Even if it was the fault of the school, it was another school why does your school need to tell you.

It's the same school board, and it's in the community.

I know people that were friends with the girl and they only found out through NT students. Plus, as far as I know, this hasn't been addressed at North Toronto, either.

Schools aren't responsible for the behavior of its students, teaching their sons and daughters to be respectable people is the job of the parents, not the teachers. It's a place education meant to raise the academic skills of people, not a convention for world-fixers.

More than anything, news of suicide is rather disturbing, especially among the younger children that might be disturbed by it, it isn't the schools duty to spread such news that could possibly be harmful to the students.

There's nothing you can really do about the world troubles anyway, all you can do is just be as good of a person as you can be to others, so instead of focusing of everything else you should focus more on the life around you and study properly.

It isn't the schools job to sob and worry about external problems. If you want to cry over shit go do that in your bedroom little girl.

From 0 to 50 is .3 seconds.

Lol.... Why are you so heated over this? Is it that time of the month again? Do you need a hug or something?

I pretty much agree with you, however I see no reason to start throwing around insults unprovoked.

A girl in my school committed suicide, the school provided free counselling to affected students.

A paedophile was discovered around 20 miles from the school, my school published a statement and advice and help to parents and children. Me and certain people often discuss politics and current affairs, some teachers will join in on the discussion/debate and bring a new insight. On the flip side some people really just don't give a shit. Most people (in my experience) don't care about factors that do not directly relate to them, they have no deference nor chivalry.

The (speculated) Ukrainian oppression really has a minimal impact on us as individuals. The Russian bulli will affect Russia and Ukraine, and other indirectly related people/countries.

By your thinking, why aren't you concerned about the passive aggression between me and my cat?
