The situations really aren't anything similar.
They're basically pacifist. They aren't forcing anyone to do anything, it is their faith.

The Amish do force their opinions on others, namely their children. And yes, the Taliban make decisions for other adults, because guess what? They were/are the ruling party for most of Pakistan.

So you're saying any decision forced on children, who aren't legally able to decide for themselves regardless, makes someone as bad as the Taliban? The Amish don't force their choices on people outside their faith by using deadly force.

At an idealogic level, they are. Your argument isn't against the militant part of the Taliban, you're arguing that they're terrible people for denying people access to vaccines. I'm merely pointing out that in most Western nations, we are perfectly accepting of similiar idealologoies.

Just because it isn't a part of how the vast majority of Muslims practice doesn't mean it isn't there.

A good example of such an occurance in the christian churches is how the old testament specifically forbids shellfish, wearing clothes with more than one fabric, and so much as thinking about another man's wife. Obviously, 99% of people that would identify as christian don't obey these edicts, but they are still a part of the teachings.

No, it isn't really there. Islam does not forbid anything like that. It actually teaches you to embrace the sciences. The early muslims were at the pinnacle of scientific learning and research, into many fields such as medicine, astronomy, biology, optics, mathematics, and many many others. Saying that islam teaches to "deny modern medicine" is ignorant.
