What a bold move to poke the tiger like this and expect some sense of humor from a dictator - and, let's face it, there was no way it wouldn't be controversial, even if it's just a funny comedy with an adorable bromantic chemistry between Rogen and Franco like the one they had in Pineapple Express.
It's a spectacular hook, and, given all the hoopla and shenanigans surrounding the release of this film, it's a pleasure to report that the rest of the film bears up to the excellent conceit. There are a lot of very funny moments, lines, scenes and set-pieces in The Interview, as well as a relatively sophisticated plot structure - and depth of characterisation - for "this kind of movie" - being the kind of movie that stars Seth Rogen.

Did we watch the same movie... The plot was weak, the movie dragged like hell, and it wasn't even close to funny compared to their other movies.

I found it funny, funny as in a Quinton Tarantino movie. It's a comedy. It's not meant to have a realistic plot, or situations; it's meant to be funny. And on that account it succeeded.
