Just saw The Interview with @Jiggly at Alamo Drafthouse. I was almost surprised at how good it was, given all the reviews I read. Given that I loved the movie Pineapple Express (which also had Rogen and Defranco), I disregarded the negative comments I'd seen and saw it anyway. In my opinion, it was totally worth it. Glad I didn't pirate it either, as they haven't made much money, and it's an excellent movie.

Good spfx: Check.

What a bold move to poke the tiger like this and expect some sense of humor from a dictator - and, let's face it, there was no way it wouldn't be controversial, even if it's just a funny comedy with an adorable bromantic chemistry between Rogen and Franco like the one they had in Pineapple Express.
It's a spectacular hook, and, given all the hoopla and shenanigans surrounding the release of this film, it's a pleasure to report that the rest of the film bears up to the excellent conceit. There are a lot of very funny moments, lines, scenes and set-pieces in The Interview, as well as a relatively sophisticated plot structure - and depth of characterisation - for "this kind of movie" - being the kind of movie that stars Seth Rogen.
