The Gates Have Been Sealed!
TL;DR: You can't get in anymore, idiots!

Even months ago, members were told that Sinisterly would eventually become an invitation-only community. Today is the day that the process will start. As of now, registration is closed and the pruning process will begin. Certain members will be removed from the community and older members will be invited back.


[ Why? ]

Sinisterly isn't headed where I'd like it to go. I love running a community with open doors, since it allows new people to come and go. However, there are a large number of issues associated with people coming and going at random. Sinisterly has always been a close-knit community and nothing will change that. It was never destined to become a massive superpower and I'd never run it if it were.

For many people, Sinisterly has served as a home and a basis for learning and sharing ideas. I have decided that in order to preserve Sinisterly and put it on the right path, it is important that we close our doors. The invitation system will allow for new people to join, but it will require that registrants contact a current member. This will ensure that idiots don't get in and ruin the forum.


[ What plans are in store? ]

Everything will be revealed in time. Here are a few changes I plan to make:

• Old members will receive recognition and be rewarded.
  
• Members with less than 5 posts will be eliminated.
  
• Imbecilic threads/posts will vanish. Sorry, that includes the ones about Jay's Booter.
  
• New rules will be established and there will be more emphasis on current ones.
  
• The economy of the forum will be improved and gambling may soon become a part of the forum.
  

The process will take some time, but you will all be updated.

I can understand why you're going for a invite only community.
And this site is big enough to survive without new members coming in every day.
But being a big site you're also a big target for spambots etc.
So this is a good decision

I believe activity will drastically decrease after a long period of time around the forum, to be honest. However, we will see how it turns out. Good luck!
