There was a very particular style of DDOS attack just now, it was mitigated.

Teen instagrams Principal's Mugshot #1
Georgia high school student instagrams her principals mugshot and gets suspended. Do you think it was the right thing to do?

The principal should actually be punished for this. "I think" is enough to keep it from even being considered lieing. I don't know of any school where this could actually be against the rules,

I'm pretty sure it's against the law to share another person's information online w/o their information, this would presumably include photographs

But this didn't happen in school, and the cop didn't do anything. SO the school still cant do anything. Not to mention, it's a mugshot. I believe that's a little different.

A mugshot is still personal information. I suppose "getting suspended" is better than "getting sued".

I searched for it, the best I could find is that it's lawfully obtained public information. And news sites and such post mugshots all the time, I don't see much of a difference between a kid and a news site posting it, except the kid sounds like an idiot for not finding out for sure what the arrest was for. Either way, the principal has no right to suspend the student for it.

If he found it online he shouldn't be in any trouble, "privacy is not private"
