[TUT] Wireshark - Grab Skype IP! #2 #1
Hello everyone,

Since many of you may know... Skype has patched IP grabbing! Well, there is a great bypass for that.
Just following these steps and grab anyone's IP.

Step 1.
Download and install Wireshark, https://www.wireshark.org/#download

Step 2.
Open Wireshark and select your network.

Step 3.
Open up Skype and get in a call with the victim.

Step 4.
Click on Start Capturing Packets and watch the packets roll in.

Step 5.
Stop capturing packets and now it is up to you to find out what IP it actually is.
There will be lots of different packets, one of them will be your IP4 Address, just ignore that.
Before you get in a call with someone, just start capturing packets already and then get in a call with someone and you will see a difference there.

You can also do stuff with filtering, but if you use your brain you can easily find it out.

Huh, didn't know they patched resolving. I'm pretty sure people were getting IPs over Skype via Wireshark prior to the popularity of Skype API Resolving tools. I always preferred Wireshark, because if its just to screw with a friend, I don't want shady sites getting a DB of IPs with me and my friend in it.

Overall though great tutorial on it though!

Ignoring your own internal IP when trying to get someone else's public IP is the exact opposite thing you should do. The packets you send through skype have your internal IP as the source IP, if you ignored every packet with that IP then the person's IP you're trying to grab would be going right over your head. Also, there are many ways to get their IP with accuracy rather than guessing based on how many times the IP shows up. An example is going to skype's settings and seeing what port your packets go through in order to communicate with other IPs, you can then call or message that person and use one of the packet filters in wireshark (not going to say what the filter is for the purpose of keeping skids in the dark) to see what the person's IP is. That's one of the best ways in my opinion, but there are many others.

Well that is a option too but I like to do it this way.
I just immediately see the change happening.

Thanks for this. I actually hoped that it was easier than this since I only wanted the ips from people who messed me over.

Well, this is really easy.
All you need to do is start capturing, call the guy and if he picks up you will see a change happening in Wireshark.

I read about Wireshark and grabbing Skype IP's with it before but haven't put it into practice yet.

Great tutorial.
