[TUT]How To Rid Your Computer Of Ransom Malware 11-05-2012, 08:35 PM

Welcome to my tutorial on how to get rid of a Ransom Malware.
First of all, What Is A Ransom Malware?
A Ransom Malware is a virus that will block you from most of your programs such as Google Chrome, Firefox, and or anything else you use on a daily basis. It will give you a pop-up like the picture below saying that it is finding hundreds of viruses through your system. This is NOT true. The only virus there is, is the one blocking your programs and making this fake pop-up. Your probably wondering what the "ransom" part is about. The virus will "completely scan" your computer and tell you that there is 100+ viruses and that you have to pay $60 or whatever to get the "full version" of the antivirus to remove the viruses. If and when you do pay the $60, the program self-destructs and locks your computer making the entire rig useless as a phillips screwdriver on a flat head screw. Now onto how to remove this annoying virus

How do I know these? Ive had to deal with them on several occasions. Ive had it 2-3 times, and my cousin had it twice. Only way you get it is from downloading something. Usually its a torrent. So be careful.
Option 1: Using Internet Explorer
Option 2: Using A Second Computer(Need USB)
How to Ensure You Dont Have To Do All Those Steps
(Time took me to write all this: 1hour-1 1/2hour)

Option 1: Using Internet Explorer
Spoiler:
Step 1: One way to fix this, is to go through Internet Explorer. Because IE is from microsoft, it cant be blocked. But it is slow as hell. Usually it has a timer and will block most websites because it dosnt want you to get rid of the virus. So you have to be quick about this. Go to this url here: Clicky . It may take you several attempts but trust me, youll get it. Malwarebytes looks like the picture below.

Step 2: So now that you have Malwarebytes, open it up and it should update its database, this will take a little bit, but once its done run a "Full Scan". This should take a while as well depending on how much space you've filled up in your computer, so sit back with a cup of coffee and enjoy seeing the viruses your going to kill come in. Once its done, click the delete viruses button, and your home free with no viruses, and no Ransom Malware

.Option 2: Using A Second Computer(Need USB)
Spoiler:
The only difference between the two options, is that you download the Malwarebytes program off a non-infected computer, and hook it up to your infected computer and do the same thing. So get Malwarebytes on your non-infected computer and install it onto your infected computer and do Step 2 of Option 1. And now you should be homefree
.
.How to Ensure You Dont Have To Do All Those Steps
Spoiler:
If you have Malwarebytes to begin with, none of that would happen. When your in the process of downloading the malware, a pop up will come from Malwarebytes and stop the download and delete whatever has already been downloaded. So my advice is to go get it now so you never have to worry about this horrible virus.
