Creating Metal Textures Tutorial

1. Create a Gradient
[Image: 2mczjvd.png]

Make sure it fits the theme on what you are making Now follow below:
Now go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise

About 15 to 40% should be fine

Now go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur

40-70 pixels should work
changing the angel will also change the flow of the metal

Results at the end

Not too bad Smile It could be developed a bit more but it's a good start. I'd recommend adding adding a b/w gradient map or lower the saturation to make it completely gray and get rid of the colours the noise caused.

Or you can search metal textures on google and find 5x better ones. There is really no point of the guide and when u change the size of the canvas it will look differently. You should of gave the download link to the png of the texture would of been a lot more helpfuler then making this guide. -_- trying to be mean but its the truth. You could mess with gradient map to make it look better or lower the opacity. It looks really weird and unprofessional

Well honestly by itself yes, but with other things used in the right spot this can make an entire piece of art. Dont doubt what one gradient can do Wink

This can be used for many things. Especially things that you cant use a texture you just get off Google for. Nice share bro. I didn't know you could make a metal texture like this.
