SAO isn't god-tier, but perhaps good-tier. Being an MMORPG gamer, I got a huge thrill off hearing terms I'd normally here, just in an anime. Not only that but the idea of a virtual reality MMORPG practically made me cream myself, and I was on a serious hype over it. Fairy arc sucked shit, I'd rather have had a longer first arc, with it being a little more slower, but whatever. It was a good anime, but not the best, and I think it gets praised too much, but hated on too hard.

Eh, to me it is god-tier. That might be because I was raised by MMOs though. I have always been an addict of MMOs, whether it was Runescape or EVE. The factor of romance in an MMO was one I wasn't expecting either. A lot of people have said it is overrated, but I tend to disagree. I have watched many really great anime and I still think it deserves a place at the top. Then again, there is no such thing as a "correct" opinion. If you tell me Boku no Pico is the best anime, I can't really prove you wrong - although I can certainly disagree.

I completely get what you mean. If you asked me what I thought of it right after watching it you'd have heard it was a 5/5, god, I masturbated so hard I think I shit myself -tier. Though, after coming down from that nerdgasm I realized it's flaws, and even then I still think it's a good anime. Like you said, I can't disprove it being the best anime, and I can't prove it's the best anime either, and what it is is subject to change per person.

Though the romance in the game was something I actually really liked, it's something in a lot of modern day MMORPG's that goes unnoticed. I know in games I've played you can get married, and there is formal wear for said occasions. Sometimes they're a big thing sometimes they aren't, but it was a really cool thing nonetheless. That and all the terms I understood :3

Yeah, that's what happened to me to. I kept hearing about it, then made the poor decision of listening to 4chan. I ended up watching it months later. Very glad I did watch it though.
