Sword Art Online Coming To Toonami #1

Code:
Aniplex of America announced at its panel at Anime Boston on Friday that the Sword Art Online television anime series will air on Adult Swim's Toonami block starting this August. Aniplex of America also outlined its home video release of Sword Art Online on Blu-ray Disc and DVD, and its re-release of Blue Exorcist on DVD and for the first time, on Blu-ray Disc. Aniplex of America will release Sword Art Online in four limited-edition Blu-ray Disc sets and four standard edition DVD sets. The sets will ship on August 13, September 17, October 15, and November 19. Pre-orders will be available on Right Stuf and Aniplex's own site starting on May 28.

Read recently that SAO will be coming to Toonami. I think it's great to see localization, because that generally means we'll be seeing more of the series. While their producer seems to have his hands tied at the moment, we might see the other arcs sometime this year (or next). Not a big fan of the dub though, since it's not all that great. What do you guys think?

I have it set to record in a few hours, I'm sure the dub is going to be horrible though.

SAO should have ended after the original plot ended. The whole second half (Elf Shit Online) was complete garbage and was obviously made just to milk more money from the anime. Idc if the shit goes on toonami, but I sure as hell won't be watching any more episodes/specials if they're made. I didn't even finish the anime because alfheim was so bad.

Not exactly. I'll agree the second arc was not nearly as good as the first, but I believe that's because of the pace they set for the story. The entire plot is from the light-novel series and there are several other arcs to the story of Kiragaya.

The only problem I will have is the dub. It honestly doesn't look all too bad, but most idiots of the anime universe "AH MI GAHD FUK DAHBS U R NOT TRU ANIMU FAN IF U WATCH DUBZ!1!!1 :3 ~ u ~ :333~~!!!! SUBZ 4 LYFE DESU KAWAII LE DESU KA NE!!!!11"

Honestly, dubs can be bad. Really bad. But it's not as bad as people make it out to be. I could understand it if you watched the anime in sub, and then watched the dub and it sucked, because the voice didn't match up.

But in all seriousness, dubs aren't that bad. If I want to watch an anime in dubs I will. If it sucks in dubs, I will watch subs. Simple as that.

There are many great dubs (Cowboy Bebop comes to mind), but there are also some pretty horrid dubs out there. The show was made in Japanese. It only makes sense that it'd sound and look better in Japanese. I'm not the kind of guy that will only watch a show with subs, but I've seen some pretty bad dubs. Tongue

I watched the DUB today, the quality was better than crunchyroll's.
But the voices did not fit the characters, I was pretty sad.

I've only seen commercials of it, so I can't say so myself.
