Why does this forums have like 5 upgrades that total out to $55. Not being a dick but that is insanely over priced and unnecessary.

I have seen a forum with $250 to upgrade. I think the prices on here are decent and you can also get the first on with points.

To be honest, they actually equal $175 total. The main upgrades are really Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Platinum and Diamond were added for people that donate/post excessively. We actually have >20 members that have the rank of Diamond or Platinum.

One of the reasons the price should stay high, is that it means fewer people will go buy upgrades, then not log in ever again. Higher prices mean people are more interested in the forum if they're willing to spend more for the upgrade you know?
It doesn't look great when very low quality members have the highest ranked upgrades. SL has always maintained that it's best to upgrade via earning NSP through posting, which supports the site's activity.

FYI: This is pretty much a non-profit forum. Oni invests in the site out of pocket Smile

I must admit I do like the idea of being able to be rewarded with upgrades by activity. Not many sites have that.
