Studying Abroad #1
So my french literature instructor recently asked me to take the opportunity to study abroad in France/Italy, its going to cost about 3,000 to go but i'm applying to as many scholarships as i can. Anyone have advice? like ways to make money (legal ways of course) and maybe scholarship application tips anything?

In terms of making money, I'll state the obvious and simply say to find a job.

I often advise as follows: "If you spend 8 hours a day working, you should spend 8 hours a day looking for work". If you want a job (any job), no doubt you'll find one.

There are also loans and scholarships that are due only after you graduated so that you have some time to save money. Furthermore, you are obviously more likely to earn more after graduation.

If you do this you'll have a job in no time.

Everyone's looking for people to work for them, its fact.

If you like your major, definitely try to find the opportunity to get some experience in the field while abroad. You'll probably learn things you wouldn't have even in a co-op program near your normal campus.
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

Agree.

It's just that a lot of people (who desperately seek work), pick and choose as to the "type" of work they're after. And then they complain why a job doesn't land their way.
