RE: Strict Laws (USA) - Serious Debate #11
I think that just because the fact that there is a law in place about it, people might do it anyways. Like the prostitution laws for example, it's going to happen no matter what, and what I don't understand is why do we have these laws in place?

Like, since when did the gun laws stop people from owning guns? And when did censorship stop people from watching uncensored television?

I find most of these laws to be pointless and in basically what I'm trying to say is that they are pointless.

Exactly. This brings me to another point - Marijuana legalization. It's finally happening, though. I don't personally smoke, but think about the possbilities:

They can tax it. Sure, it can be home-grown, but it's still taxable.

Regardless of the laws, you will have people that smoke. Why not legalize and tax it? People would make a fortune more than they do already. Marijuana is already the number one cash crop in the US. (Medical marijuana)

Sometimes I feel as though I could run the entire US myself. Not to be cocky, it's just easy to say stuff like that compared to the nutheads that run everything.
