Ever hear of a "chord tunnel"? Basically, no matter where you are in the Earth, you can arrive at your destination in exactly 42 minutes by cutting through the earth in a frictionless tube. Currently the limitations with such things would be the energy to accelerate the shuttle, the energy and material to build it, and the distribution of thermal and kinetic energy in such a way so as to not bring harm to living things inside of it while in motion as well as when breaking.

Most of these can be solved by carbon nanotubes, and more specifically, "buckypaper", as well as fluid suspension.

These are existing things that would simply need to be repurposed.

Let's say price isn't a matter since nanotubes hasn't been fully released yet.
You still forgot about 2 things, Temperature and pressure.
Also the core is iron, And the core has no gravity.

Also you forgot how the chord tunnel will be built. Cutting that far through the Earth is almost impossible at the moment.

It is impossible at the moment, we have nothing that can stand against 5000 Celsius passively plus the fraction that the drill gives.

Let alone the distance that has to be drilled.....

I didn't forget anything.
Pressure and heat are energy. And, although yes, CURRENTLY there are no practical technologies to convert these with 100% efficiency and with such high amounts, there are theories floating around making such things possible.

It's all about investing in the future.

And there is no need to go straight through the core. And even if there was, lack of gravity is a non-issue. The force of the downward motion from one end will ALWAYS be enough to pop it up on the other end.

I never said it was going to done overnight. I said that most of it was just repurposing modern tech.

Avatars are for faggots.

That would be too much force.... therefore producing too much heat and force. It wouldn't be possible for thousands of years to be honest.

Technological advancements are increasing at an exponential rate.
Theories are becoming demonstrable fact within mere decades. In a relatively short time, it might even be mere years.

I doubt it even with technology advancing there is nothing on earth that can sustain that force and heat...

Fine. Let's say that you're right, and there's no way that these basic energies can disrupted in such a way so as to make the process doable.

There's also maglev propulsion above-ground. Advancements in that could allow for the same possibility, just in a somewhat greater amount of time. For example, LA to NYC in about 45 minutes. The time tables would be less reliable, but we're much closer to doing this, with several projects already proposed to create high-speed maglev lines. And there have been trains doing this for years, in France and Japan, though I'm not sure how fast those go.

There are also evacuated tubes, with the same times, but cheaper.

This seems like a more reachable solution too be honest.

Err, I meant cheaper to build.
I think it costs more to power and maintain the evacuated tubes, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, my point remains valid.
There's always another way, if human greed is put aside.
