Spirit of Sanchez #1
Every year I have to play a solo for band class. This year I choose to do a group 1 (hardest level) snare drum solo. When you enter group 1 you are given a list of songs to choose from. My private drum instructor selected the song Spirit of Sanchez for me. I just got back from the competition and received a silver. I was so nervous though, at one part of the song I was even shaking. For those of you who can read percussion music:

So what are AF's thoughts on this topic?

I used to play the drums but I'm a complete noob at reading music. I've never had classes for any kind of instrument.

Praise the internet and the skills of observation.

I've played that song, but I played it at a 180 Tempo. It is so damn hard. My teacher played it in front of the class at insane speed. Do you play any other instruments?

180? the music calls for 116 and that's hard enough! I play percussion, so I can play any perc instrument.
