So a little update on the car thing... #1
If you missed it: https://sinister.ly/Thread-New-Car-D

Yeah, I was supposed to get this car within a few weeks of making that thread, and I never got it. And here's why.

My father kinda had a change of plans, and decided to just buy a boat and move down south. But before he did that, he traded the 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander for...

Spoiler:

A FREAKING MUSTANG!!!

I remember the Mitsubishi you were supposed to get quite well. It's a shame you didn't end up with It, they're very reliable cars.

The Mustang looks spectacular. Black suits It nicely, I wouldn't opt for any other color. I've seen It In red (which wasn't all that bad), but In white was not appealing at all. Driving a stick Is quite easy, you'll pick It up In no time.

Here's a tip when you miss gears and hear grinding as a learner

put the gear shift to neutral(in the middle where its not engaging any gears)
lift the clutch up all the way.
then press it down again and attempt to change gear.
it will be a lot smoother when you try it again..

this action syncs the gears and get those cogs spinning at the same speed.
this is called 'double clutching' (as mentioned but never explained in many films)
its a technique for racing car drivers but i found it works well with a learner who grid gears too.

hope this helps !

Have a nice day Biggrin

I don't grind gears, but I stall a lot.

That's a sick car! I would be thrilled. I probably won't be getting a car for another 2-3 years.

I don't care much, though. I mostly mooch off my friends :p

Sure beats my first car (citereon c2) congrats!

As for driving with gears , you will get used to it , its hard at first but it becomes automatic. Do you need to do a different / new driving licence to drive manual over there? In the uk you can drive auto or manual if you pass in a manual car. But only autos if you pass in a auto car.

What's the 0-60 time on it? And what's the fuel economy like? Not a bad deal to trade an Outlander for a Mustang. Love the sound of em.

No, as long as you have a Class C license (which is pretty much every car that's not super heavy) you can drive auto or manual. It's best to take your test in an auto though.

There are only a few other classes in America. Class B is for Buses, Class A is for Tractor Trailers / Lorries, Class M is for Motorcycles.

Class CDL or Commercial Driver's License is required if you're driving a Class A or B vehicle for hire.

5 seconds. Fuel economy is horrible, but still, it's a fucking muscle car.
