I think Shiro is actually smarter in terms of academia and logic; Sora is better at reading people and exploiting weaknesses, but she's got him beat for pure brain power. Everyone except Steph is a genius in NGNL though, so it almost doesn't matter.

True. Shiro had the brains, but Sora was certainly good at bluffing and street smarts.
