I like the ribbon looks elegant and the header image fits nicely don't know about the that purple tho.

Like @Luminary I also have the feeling i've seen it somwhere, but dejavu aside, I don't know if I like it very much. TBH I think the "pop factor" may be a bit much and I like the humble home-row as it is. It fits the rest of the site A E S T H E T I C

Maybe if Oni doesn't implement it, you could just release it as a Stylish theme? That the people who like it can add it, and the people who don't won't.

Seems interesting, I would also recommend dynamically colored fonts (so if you select white from the color picker you can still read stuff).

And I believe the very top part of your mockup (where the logo is) is a bit too long.

This looks SO killer, especially if you could switch colors with the new ribbon.

Maybe you could keep the current theme just in case people would want to change back?

I think it would be great to be able to switch back and fourth.
And I really think it would bring in some new members.

But it would be a lot of work to make the header work with the color changer and background changer I think.
I'm not sure if @Oni will want to do it.

Agree.

A somewhat similar functionality as with switching the Board Style via the User CP. Then again, It all depends on the complexity behind It's Implementation.

That's what gives It character though- the ribbon protruding. Flat Is somewhat bland, that's just my opinion.

Having said that, I do agree with you In trying a less-conspicuous approach with the ribbon. It may just provide an equilibrium to those opposed to the Idea altogether.
