Did I say that or can you not comprehend my post? Or do you really have the audacity to twist my wording? The point is, why switch to a new name that still doesn't give this site meaning. Use some common sense.

Here is what I know I did say:
1. What will be the benefit of either Sinister or Vicious over the current name however?
2. These both could still be misleading..

"Still" implies that I acknowledged that the current name itself is just as well misleading. And the first part of my post was to see what the benefits would be in having "Vicious" or "Sinister" over the current name, because I don't see how they could be any more "clearer" than the current name...

Anyways I voted for "We shouldn't change it.*", because it was the only other choice other than the other names that I don't see doing any benefit. You would lose SEO, and for what? Unless a proper suitable name is chosen..

If I wanted a domain that had keywords like "blackhat" or "hacking" in it, I would easily be able to get one. The name is more of a brand, than anything. Computing isn't the forum's only focus. The misleading bit about Anarchy Forums being the name is that the word "Anarchy" has multiple meanings. When I made the forum I had "absolute freedom" in mind and not the stereotypical punk-rockers people think of when they read our name. Sinisterly and Viciously sound much nicer in my opinion and have straightforward definitions.

When I asked for people's opinions, it was on which name they liked more, and not about the possible issues with SEO. As always, SEO is my job, and nothing anybody should worry about except for me. A lot of the SEO can easily be made up for. Also, some of our best members came by word of mouth and not all of them found us on Google. People should just focus on picking the name they like, and not worry about what I will be dealing with. Of course, your opinion is noted.

Man those two are at it all of the time.

I like cxs idea. A name is just a name until you give it meaning. But i was on a forum that only wanted serious members and had a name that i couldnt even find when i tried to google for it. Needless to say it didnt end well. Anar your right it isnt are problem to worry about the details but it is when this is our forum as well. A forum is like a park, without the people its just a domain, but with the people anything is possible. It can be a castle with a dragon or even more in some peoples eyes. so yeah a name is a name and we will follow you no matter the name so if you want tp change it go ahead but i vote no.

Also timmy i like that your trying but i dont like those names. The lack originality.

He already said that in the thread. Take a look maybe?

I did read it... (moron). I was simply stating that a domain name change would ensue in losing all of the current SEO, and may also only result lower quality SEO for a bad domain name like Sinister.ly or Vicious.ly, I don't think it would be a good thing to do. The current domain name is much better in that regard.

Ever heard of a "rhetorical" question, or is this yet another word to add to the collection of words that you do not understand? :S

He already knows about the SEO, so that part in your post was unnecessary.
Rhetorical questions are simply questions that are asked and an answer is not expected. In other words, your mom talking out loud. Thank you for that thought from your mind because everybody is so so dependent on what you think.

Maybe it was, but I know what he is doing, and I just don't like the guy. Obviously that is a mutual perception... I won't respond to anything else he has to say, if he can do the same.

I think the concept of rebranding is a good idea. It has the potential to build new interests into the forum and possibly increase activity. Of course it may also have the opposite affect.

I do like the current name etc though :') I shan't be voting.

I don't have a name, I've never thought of it... But I think that both Vicious and Sinister will have their levels of "mockability" as well, if "Anarchy" was being mocked in any way...

I read that too, what I was pointing out is that I see it as being lost without reason. Usually things that do "damage" are done with the hope/insight that it will be better in the long run.

"Rhetorical questions are simply questions that are asked and an answer is not expected." - Good job! So why did you post a response to me there? It wasn't put out there in hope that I would get an answer from you.

We're not going to take up this thread with another 7 page argument are we? :blackhat: Because if you think my post was unnecessary... lol.

@Der Anarchist - I get your intentions.. But why a .ly domain? That also will not be truly good for this forum.

RE: Site Name Change Proposal #17
You seeing it as lost without reason doesn't mean you need to talk about it. We already know of the situation, you're just repeating things that don't need to be brought up more than once.

Clearly you're trying to make something out of it being a rhetorical question, plus the fact that it wasn't even a question, it was a statement. "You will lose all of your SEO.." No, it wasn't to get an answer from me, however you're on a public forum. If you were looking to get something out of a specific person and not others, well good luck with that. If you were looking for no one to answer, I go back to the fact that you're talking nonsense because what you said was already taken into consideration and wasn't needed to be said again. The threads about the domain change, not re-establishing the SEO issue.

We're not taking it to 7 pages again? Well, that depends on you. I will more than happily. Especially since I'm up against a dumbass like yourself.
Also, looking back on what I said when you quoted me, I meant "mind", not "mom." My mistake.

I know, but this thread was posted for feedback. I'm seeing 5 votes as the majority for not changing it.

RE: Site Name Change Proposal #20
Doesn't matter if people voted no? You saying it will affect his SEO still is unnecessary and you know it. What's the reasoning behind it, to tell him about what the damage will do? He already knows.

Yeah, I'm a dumbass because I accidentally said 1 wrong word? No, that just makes you look even worse for bagging on people because they're not 100% perfect. You're not perfect either, and I'm sure you've made a grammatical error recently. Still having errors doesn't make you any less intelligent. Unless you don't learn, and continue to talk / make that error.

And now you're trying to reference a fight from another thread? Haha, you have nothing left to say so you resort to trying to start a fight about something else, bringing more arguments into the thread. How about we stay on this one thread, and not make an attempt to merge two?
Still makes you look worse since you're trying to dig deep and pull random stuff that has no relevance to this.
