So i sat down thinking about sirius forum & how it's new and everything, so i thought why not make a "official" divider & the "news" logo.

Sure, i know i'm not the best at this, i'm really not, i'm actually a real noob when it comes to graphic design.

The separator looks like it'd be a bit bulky, as in a little too high, making a really big gap. As for the logo, maybe more detail could be done. Like you said, this isn't your thing but this is a good attempt.
