Agree, but judging by the amount of traffic on one of my blogs, people are still using them In some capacity.
Hacking packs were sought-after around a decade ago. Not so much nowadays. The demand for keyloggers, RATs and stealers Is almost non-existent.
Unfortunately, free rats are unreliable. Another problem is that I see very few trusted rats in the markets. Most of the attacks are now based on social engineering.
Agree.
Social engineering has been around for a very long time. It's just become very popular over the last decade or so. I remember back In the late 70s-early 80s, when we used to SE free bus rides to and from school. I'd pay the driver by deliberately dropping the coins and when he went to pick them up, a couple of my friends would sneak In quickly and take a seat. Of course, this wasn't on a daily basis, but rather every month or so with different drivers.
