I believe the main problem with your design is the overlapping elements.
You have the pulse line in the back and it just runs right in to your text.
Because of the styling you have chosen it would be hard to separate these two elements from each other unless you deleted part of the pulse line.
This problem stems from 3d styling, where as in a flat design you could easily erase some of the line and use the negative space as a superimposed shadow.

I would suggest you start transitioning in to flat designs and focusing on the use of negative space as well as colors.

All in all its good work for someone starting out.
