Ever heard of RoboTaxi?

Well, now you have!

Meet Amazon’s Newest Company, RoboTaxi! Introducing Self-Driving Cars for Rent.

Every day we slowly drift away from Traditionally Practiced Methods. Not too long ago we were running around with horses and carriages. Now its self taught robot drivers, leading us to our most important destinations. Day by Day  we Embrace New Technology & Development  , leaving behind whats old and outdated.

Several other companies have stepped up and attempted to quickly fill the gap that is slowly being filled by Amazon.

What do you think out of all of this?

I don't think we will ever totally lose the steering wheel, no matter how advanced self-driving/autonomous systems get. Currently, there is still a lot of (understandable) distrust for self-driving machines. Especially considering they're actually illegal on many roads around the globe. However, even when we are at a point where they become vastly safer than a human driving, humans are never going to stop driving, I think. People still race and ride horses, despite not needing them for the last 100 years for transport. People find a rush in racing and driving. I'll give you another example: The automatic car vs the manual. Many people still buy manual cars because they enjoy the feeling of driving them.

We wont completely veer away from driving our own cars. At least not soon. People are growing lazier and lazier in the US by the second. I really wouldn’t be surprised if we basically turn into the episode of Black Mirror (15,000,000 Merits)

This looks great, but it would never be applicable in my country for the next 1-3 decades. We still have a lot of things to work on, roads, traffic, etc.

Yeah i’d imagine you would need to have well developed roads and signs to safely travel in one of these.

Yeah, that's the thing my country doesn't fully have yet.

Ha! Good reference! It's easy to imagine how some Black Mirror episodes are uncomfortably likely.
