When you join this community the first thing you should do is read the rules then introduce yourself. This has been stated numerous times. I have been noticing lately that some new members are just asking to be given info or posting random crap just to have posts. Both of these issues are covered in the RULES. While everyone here is more than willing to help out if needed, you are required to help yourself first. READ THE RULES.

I dont believe the first thing a member should do includes introducing yourself, at least not at a level that is expected in this community. You dont join a website you know very little details and post a biography. You get to know the community, and the community gets to know you, and then you let them in on a bit more about yourself once you are comfortable with the community. This could be 10 posts in or it could be 100 posts in - but its not necessarily something that needs to be done as your first post unless youve been lurking a while.

That said - This thread is not going to make a difference. In 24 hours it will be out of sight and out of mind of anyone new. You've unlikely made any difference by posting this.

Pretty sure they do... thats one of the few forums new members can actually post in to build their post count to become "member"?

I know way back when they didn't count and there was a lot less spam in the intro section. Not sure why this was changed @bluedog.tar.gz What's your thoughts on bringing this back?

Also although this most likely isn't really going to help much I'll move it to introductions and sticky it on a trial basis
