Religious Excuses. #1
Who is god? A savior? The creator of everything? The pinnacle of perfection? Or is he man’s externalized ego?

To me he is man’s externalized ego. Upon hearing countless stories and preaches about god I came to the conclusion that god might be real but, not as described by the bible or atheists. He can do what man can’t do. Such as kill people, love everybody, be all knowing, and be perfect. Just because man has an ego and can’t accept it he has to externalize it into a supernatural being. Do you really believe there is a saint spirit hovering around you and telling you what he wants you to do? If you consider humans evil you should also consider god evil. Aren’t we made in his image? What about all the people that have died because “it was god’s will”?

In funerals you see priests saying “He’s in a better place, god decided to take him with him” now I believe a person would very much prefer to have his loved ones around him instead of being with “god” . Didn’t god create everything? Meaning e created Satan, who is Satan? Is he an evil being that torments you and manipulates you into doing wrong? Or is he an excuse your self-righteous being uses? You see people at church confessing their sins saying “Satan made me do it” as if they was all perfect and untouchable. Using Satan as an excuse to your failure to follow an imaginary set of rules will not help you in your religion or your salvation. It is time humans started taking responsibility for their actions and stop blaming it on nonexistent deities. Another example, a man gives almost all his paycheck to needy people and helps them out on a regular basis, this deed is informed to somebody and they say “God is working through him” As if humans were incapable of doing good on their own. Again looking for validation to his beliefs.

To me Satan and God are just excuses and the halt to progression. You can believe in everything you want but, you must understand that we as humans are not equals and will never be.

I apologize for my lack of debate threads, I am still having connectivity issues with DZ and I am trying my best to pop in and post threads.

Honestly, Religion is nothing more than a sham. Its a fear tool that destroys societies all the time(look at all the wars caused by religion).

As for the ego part, I do indeed believe it's quite debatable considering I've met some priests who never talk about their personal lives with ANYONE but you never know, since we are probably the only animals on Earth that can voice their ego.

You do realize that, the ego part was not placed on individuals but, the whole creation of God is derived from an unaccepted ego. As I said,
Quote:Just because man has an ego and can’t accept it he has to externalize it into a supernatural being

What I am saying is that the whole concept of God and Satan are man's ego.

The only thing 'god' should be in religion is an archetype for the supernatural entity that created existence. Anything more than that and we're just making up stories.

Most people will probably say that God has a reason for what he's doing, but no actually knows what.

Who is Satan? Satan was an angel who was banished by God because he thought he was mightier than God and could over power him because a lot of angels adore and follow him, because he was the most handsome angel. So he challenged God and that's how he was sent to hell along with all other angels who was on his side. (At least that's what I know.)

Also I heard this last time when I was school, That it is already a sin when you debate something about the Bible and about God. I asked, why? They said it's because debating it could only lead to conflicts and fight.

My answer to that which I didn't tell them, would be. I think it only could lead to a fight is because of their pride and thought each others religion is better than the other. Me and my other classmate sometimes argue, because, He thinks being a New Born Christian is better than being a catholic. I get insulted sometimes because others just don't know how to respect others belief.

(I'm not that good at debating, so please forgive me if you don't understand somethings I said. I'm not very good at explaining things. Blush)

Hidden Lesson: Reactions are always instinctive whereas responses are always well thought of.

I was talking about this with my school, apparently being an Atheist is bad.

I also have to make my own religion as a class assignment, so I'm going to look at some Satanic religions for help.
