Religion - In Depth #1
Hey guys. I know Chris already made a thread about religion, but I wanted to take it a step further. A lot of you have heard the term "Agnostic" or "Agnosticism," but you probably aren't aware of it's full description. To keep it short, there are 4 main types of Agnosticism / Gnosticism.

Agnosticism - Not having substantial evidence to prove one's belief.

Gnosticism - In short, completely believing in certain ways regardless of available evidence.

Theist - Believing in a deity.

Atheist - Not believing in a deity.

So if we put these together, here are some combinations:

Agnostic Theist - Believes in a deity, but is aware of the fact they do not have substantial evidence to prove their beliefs.

Agnostic Atheist - Does not believe in a deity, but they keep an open mind about the possibilities of one.

Gnostic Theist - Believes strongly in a deity, believes that there is enough evidence.

Gnostic Atheist - Believes strongly against a deity, believes their is enough evidence to disprove / not enough evidence to prove the existence of a deity.

To put it short, those who practice Gnosticism tend to be slightly "arrogant." This isn't always the case, but a stereotypical atheist is normally Gnostic. I happen to be an Agnostic Atheist. I believe in a "higher power" of some sort, but not necessarily a deity. (I understand a deity is more than a "man," but this is just me not fully explaining what I mean)

So which are you? Regardless of your religion, you fall under one of these categories. Many Christians tend to be Gnostic or Agnostic Theists. They believe strongly in their God, which is completely fine so long as they don't argue with other's beliefs. I find it perfectly okay to defend yourself, but attacking based on other's beliefs is 99% of our world's problems.

Agnosticism is the way to go in my opinion. Smile Keeping an open mind is the only logical explanation considering the lack of proof in ANY field. (Science or religion)

Same as Fusion, I am an Agnostic Atheist.

I'm a theist but I honestly don't give it too much thought. I just take life day by day and prefer not to think about things like that.
Don't talk about it, be about it.

Are you Gnostic or Agnostic though?

Do you ever question the possibilities?

Therr is too much to learn ; 3.

RE: Religion - In Depth #8
I'm Agnostic Theist just because of the fact that there isn't really much evidence, but I still feel there is something "higher" than us.

Sometimes I feel that way, but I don't really think there's a deity at the same time. My beliefs fluctuate, (Theist and Atheist) but I will always have an Agnostic point of view until proved otherwise. (Which will never, ever happen)

You never know bro, someday we might find some sort of evidence that there is, indeed a higher being.
