Regarding Grammar & the Opening of the Giveaways & Freebies Section #1
Grammar
Lately I have noticed many grammatical errors in our forum's posts, many of which were just careless mistakes. From now on, I will issue warnings based on grammar. I can overlook one or two misspellings - but if it's apparent you didn't bother using spell-check, that's a different story. I'm not expecting you to write in perfect English, but I do expect you to make an effort. International users are not exempt from my banhammer. I may give international users a bit more slack, but you are all expected to type your posts in English. I know that English might not be your first language but you are still required to use proper sentence structure. This is an English forum and I expect you to write your posts in English. If you need help learning or have questions feel free to message me and I'll gladly answer you. It is recommended that you read this post.

The Giveaways & Freebies Section
I have been getting a lot of messages about the Giveaways & Freebies section. Many people have asked where they should post their giveaways and if it could be opened to regular members. Regular members shouldn't be prevented from showing their generosity - and they should be able to get an occasional freebie. However, leeching is an issue, and I have made requirements to access the section. Instead of having to be Elite to access the section, you only need to have 100 posts on the forum. This requirement should prevent leeching and allow people to show their generosity. Additionally, you may do giveaways that are only for Elite users, and there will be an Elite giveaways section soon.

I hope everybody is content with the new requirement. Also, I wanted to let everybody know that we are working on a red version of our current theme. Expect some changes soon! Biggrin

Good idea, giving warnings for bad grammar will - at least I hope - make threads easier to read, because the members will turn their spellcheck on. I am from Germany, and I never turn my spellcheck on, because chrome is giving me strange errors, anyway I think my posts are readable.
The opening of the section is generally a good Idea, but a post-level should only count serious posts, and not the posts in the random discussion forum in my opinion, because there can be posted everything, even if it's very LQ and unnecessary.
Just my opinion - your board, your rules.

Glad we agree on this.

Posts from the following sections aren't counted:
  • Introductions
  • Random Discussion
  • Suggestions

This isn't anything new, as they have never been counted.
Points aren't gained from those sections either.

I like the grammar system, and the opening of the freebies section will be amazing.

I dislike the grammar warnings. I for one suck at spelling and don't wanna google every word I can't spell.
